Offizieller Pressetext
The first song from a new album due for launch in August 2024, the single was released to fans on Friday 31st May 2024.
A driving, defiant indie rock anthem, the song’s hook ‘Whatever happens to me happens’ is about accepting what is out of your hands, caring less about the problems that seem so significant in our lives – but that actually mean nothing, in the scheme of a
universe so much bigger than us.
It sets the tone for forthcoming singles – about how everything we see and value is actually nothing on a cosmic scale, yet matters so much to us as humans.
Nowhere Forever speaks to rejecting the fears and worries that hold us back, and jumping two feet into your one and only life – an idea that runs through wrest’s writing in 2024.
Across two albums and two EPs, wrest have become known for poetic, heartfelt lyrics, combined with soaring guitars, thunderous drums and a strong Scottish vocal. The sound has won fans at home and far beyond Scotland’s borders, drawing parallels to Frightened Rabbit, Biffy Clyro, The National and early Coldplay.
Wrest sind:
Stewart Douglas – vocals
Stephen Whipp – guitar
Craig Robertson – bass
Jonny Tait – drums.
