In Ultimo September 2015 the alternative rock duo from the Northern parts of Denmark, Get Your Gun is releasing their critically acclaimed debut album “The Worrying Kind” in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Get Your Gun was formed in 2008 by brothers Andreas and Simon Westmark along with bass player Søren Nørgaard who left the band in December 2014.
With 7 new tracks on the record Get Your Gun is expanding their universe with both some of the heaviest and most unobtrusive songs they have ever written. It is the sound of an individual balancing on a knife’s edge between resignation and strength of will. Get Your Gun’s sound is not a forced practice of style, but something that originates from the moment the band was formed. The musical universe is like the band’s dismal men: born of a wind-swept peripheral region with wide expanses and narrow outlooks. A blend between the weight and aggressive nature of rock, the nordic melancholy, and the darkest tales of country- and folkmusic.
The result is a constant duality between authority and fragility, where the complexity of simplicity is given the pride of place and where it is cut to the bone, untill it hurts the most.
With insisting and uncompromising live-shows in which every tone and note is conducted as it was the last, Get Your Gun will guide you into their bleaky darkness to show you the light.
Get Your Gun has performed more than 160 live-shows during the years around in Europe among them Trans Musicales 2012, Reeperbahn Festival 2013, Roskilde Festival 2014, and Eurosonic Festival 2015 . Get Your Gun has been elected one of Denmarks most interesting new bands by Danish national radio DR P6 Beat and ”The Worrying Kind” hass been nominated for 4 GAFFA Awards (biggest Danish Music Magazine) and voted as album of the year on serveral musicblogs in Denmark.
